Quarantine Commission Challenge
(100% proceeds given to artists)

The coronavirus pandemic has forced theaters, museums, studios, music schools and performing arts centers to close their doors to the public, which has cut most artists off from income. Our hearts also go out to the black community in America that is hurting right now. We are all brothers and sisters in this struggle and the support of many colors and cultures is the very heartbeat of ROP's mission. We denounce violence and discrimination. Black Lives Matter. We are doing everything possible to support our diverse artists and to organize a fundraiser where all funds will be given straight to participating artists. All donations are also tax-deductible and ALL funds will be given straight to artists towards the creation of new work. This is important for us to emphasize as this organization would be nothing without our multicultural artists.

The commission:
  • You can commission a new piece of solo work from a Refugee Orchestra Project musician to be performed and recorded in a digital space. It will be dedicated to you. 
  • The Quarantine Commission Challenge draws from the incredible wealth of artistic talent within our ranks where Artistic Director, Lidiya Yankovskaya will provide you with a rare opportunity to build a creative connection with a talented composer and musician, to deliver an original work.
  • Commissioning a new piece of music is a compelling moment where you can be the first person to hear that piece of music and then have it dedicated to you by name, and this process brings you into the musical landscape where you are contributing to the creation of original art. Again, 100% of funds raised go directly to the artist, and all donations are tax-deductible.

How it works (and remember 100% of funds go to the artist): 

A $500 donation
Pays for an entire commission and performance of a new work
Includes:
  • Official/printed dedication of the work to yourself or a person of your choice.
  • If this is commissioned as a gift on behalf of another, ROP will email that individual on your behalf with an official presentation of the work, in advance of public release.
  • Recorded video message from composer and performer thanking you for the commission.
  • Prominent inclusion of your name (and/or the designated dedication) in the publicly shared video performance of the work
  • Public thank you from ROP on social media.

Pays for a composer OR performer's fee
Includes:
  • Prominent inclusion of your name (and/or the designated dedication) in the publicly shared video performance of the work.
  • Recorded video message from composer and performer thanking you for the commission.
  • Acknowledgment of your contribution in notes accompanying the printed work.
  • Public thank you from ROP on social media.
The full amount goes directly to artists!
